Benign Nodes

Hi there . Just wondering had anyone else experienced this ? For the past  7 or 8 months I have had relentless itching and burning all over my body which gets worse at night . Constantly hot and sweaty. Which also gets worse at night . I have no rash . Have been on steroids and prescription anti histamine. Had blood tests which are clear . CT scans show nodules which they think are begnin.  Getting another scan next month  to see how they grow.  If it's not lymphoma I'm at a complete loss to know what's wrong with me as is my doctor . Can what they think are benign nodes actually show up as cancerous in time ?

  • Hello yk11246
I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with some health concerns for the past few months. It sounds positive that so far all your test results have come back with no cause for concern however I  understand that this doesn't help in terms of giving you answers or resolving the issue.

It's good to know that the Dr is keeping an eye on you and has requested another scan to see if things have/do change at all. I do hope that this upcoming scan offers you some anwers and reassurance.
    Best wishes,

    Hi YK,

Welcome to our forum. I am sorry to hear about your symptoms. You do not say what age you are or whether there is any possibility of allergies to medication. Has your GP given you anything to manage your symptoms other than steroids and anti histamine?

Benign nodes can become cancerous with time, but not all do. If your GP cannot find something to deal with your symptoms, perhaps s/he will refer you to a dermatologist for further investigation?

I hope that your scan next month continues to find only benign nodes.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on. We are always here for you.

  • Hi there thanks so much for your reply. When the symptoms started we went down the change of medication route but it didnt improve symptoms.  My GP referred me to a dermatologist who thought I had the symptoms of a lymphoma and organised the scans. So I'm lost !! And extremely frustrated

    Hi YK,

If this is the case, I'm not surprized that you feel so frustrated. Did the dermatologist carry out any allergy tests, or just refer you for scans? There are treatments to reduce the sweating and itching, but it's important to find the root cause of the problem first.

Here's hoping that your scans can give you some answers this time.

    Kind regards,
