Hi all first post. My mum is being sent for a camera test an endoscopy, she hhass been having trouble swallowing and eating etc. Suspected esophageal cancer. Clear blood tests!!! After reading online esophageal cancer is probably the hardest to treat. It's always been be aand my mum and I'm her only daughter and I'm so sick and worried as I can't help but think I already know what it is, she has lost so much weight etc. Any help, support, info welcome

    I'm sorry to hear that your Mum is undergoing some tests at the moment. We know that this period of waiting for tests, appointments and results can be particularly hard. The "not knowing" often leads to imagining all sorts of outcomes which in turn can increase your anxiety levels. 

    It's natural that you're worried about Mum and if you'd like to talk through your concerns with one of our nurses then you're welcome to call them. I'm sure they'd be able to give you some support and advice. They are available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040. 

    I do hope that Mum doesn't have to wait too long for her endoscopy and the results. Keep in touch Rachel and let us know how she gets on.
