Smear results

Hi just looking for some insite really & reassurance; I had my smear test done in Dec; received my results just after Christmas which were positive hpv & high grade severe dyskarosis (If I'm spelling that right don't have the letter to hand) I am going in next week for colposcopy & just wondered what else could happen? 
Also wondering; 3 yrs ago when I had my smear, I can back hpv positive then had a colposcopy, biopsy then told I could go back to routine smears. I now worry that hpv has been growing within the 3 yrs between smears and really anxious about what next week could hold.

    I'm sorry to hear that your recent smear results have shown that you need another colposcopy. It's very common for people to have the HPV virus. You can find more information about it on the Jo's Trust website here. 

    It may be that the nurse takes some biopsy's at the appointment next week or it may be that they treat the abnormal cells there and then. Hopefully by the end of your appointment next week you'll feel more reassured about the situation but if you'd like to speak to someone then please do give one of our nurses a call on 0808 800 4040 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm).
