Bloody discharge from left nipple

Hi.....

Im.totally overwhelmed with fear at the moment..... I noticed blood coming out of my left nipple I went to see my GP then was referred to the breast clinic, they ultersounded me and the sonographer said she could see a (chunky duct) she took 3 biopsies of the duct or whatever she could see inside of it..... the consultant checked my breast and couldnt feel any lumps, no dumpling, redness, inverted nipples etc.... it's just this blood discharge, but this only comes out when I squeeze the nipple area!!!!!

I'm in such a panic! I've convinced myself its cancer....

Has anyone been through this

Thanks xxxxx

  • Hello Dianex and welcome to the forum.
I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with this problem recently. It's understandable that you're worried about what might be causing the discharge.

I'm glad that you've been referred to the breast clinic and hopefully you won't have to wait too long now for the results of the biopsy. I know that many of our members here will understand how difficult it can be waiting for results.

I wonder if you might find it helpful to talk things throug hwith one of our team of nurses? The're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040. I'm sure they will be able to offer osme advice and support while you're waiting.

Do let us know how you get on.
    Best wishes,
