Possible Tonsil Cancer?

Hi 25 male here

Im in a very dark place right now, all day everyday is just physical and mental pain, I started off with neck pain on the left side which started around the 27 of December 2019, as the days went on, I noticed pain in the left tonsil, the left tonsil itself is about 2.5x bigger than my right tonsil, I have noticed my tonsil being this big before about a year and a half ago so I assumed it’s just an abnormality.

To this present day, I have pain in the back of my head, left side of neck, shoulder blade, upper back and my collar bone which is a burning aching feeling, I don’t have a sore throat, no cough, no fever, no weight loss, no loss of appetite, but I’m in a lot of pain and painkillers aren’t working, I went to go see a doctor yesterday and he said my tonsil looked healthy And seemed confident that it’s not cancer but he wants me to do an ent to reinsure me its not cancer to stop me worrying.

thank you for reading, do you have any suggestions on what else it could Be? I would truly appreciate any feedback.

  • For anyone reading this, I have been giving my ent appointment for tomorrow on the 8th on January, I will post updates after the appointment.

  • Hi.

I'm just wondering how your appointment went? My husband has been referred to an ENT as one of his tonsils is larger than the other but nothing else.

    anxiously awaiting an appointment.

    Thanks

  • Hi there

The ENT appointment went ok, they didn't see anything sinister which was great news but they did remove the tonsil to further investigate, it just turned out to be a large deformity which is pretty common apparently. I still haven't been able to swallow food properly for over a year now unfortunately, so I'm just going to assume it's nothing sinister, I might have a narrowed esophagus now that I think about it.

I hope your husband gets good news so your minds can be stress free, good luck on the appointment :)

    Many Thanks
