Crying with anger and frustration

I received my 3rd cancelled hematology/oncology  appointment and  I just dont have the energy to deal with this anymore and i dont even know what im facing,

I've been off work since July 19 with exhaustion, dizzy spells, memory problems and feeling foggy with vision problems. Blood tests showed high platelets rgradually rising over the last 5 years until recently when they went over the flag marker, and locom GP told me it was probably blood cancer. 1st referral cancelled with re do bloods as could be affected by infection and re refer, those came back below the marker so we repeated again a month or so later and they'd shot up again so urgent referral booked in Dec  2nd appointment booked for xmas eve cancelled as wrong departments. Now my 3rd appointment for the 14th has been cancelled again, the only positive thing this time is it arrived with rescheduled appointment for 18th Feb.

I do have a general GP appointment  that I booked a month ago ... it was the earliest I could get in to see my GP! ...for Thursday so I will be asking g why

But why can or do they do this? Never any exp.anation, I know it's a teaching hospital, but surely they should be teaching patient communication skills  too

  • Hello ClareL

I'm sorry to hear about the problems that you've been having regarding appointments. It may be worth getting in touch with the Patient Advice and Liaison office (PALS) at the hospital for some advice. You can find out more about PALS here
I do hope that your appointment is sorted soon.
    Best wishes,
