I'm a 21 year old female and I've been experiencing rectal bleeding. I've had 3 episodes of bleeding that's lasted around 4-6 days through out the year. It's happeneing when I have a bowel motion and there's so much blood In the toilet that I can't even see the bowel motion. When it happenes I get pain in my abdomen and flank area, I feel week, sick and shaky. On the last episode of bleeding I started to pass clots too.
I have rang the doctors every time. The first time I was told it was fine and I was young and healthy and it was nothing to worry about (the doctor was able to say this without me attending the surgery). The second time I was told it was probably a pile or a heamoroid, and I was given pessaries and sent for a blood test. The blood test came back fine and I was sent on my way. The third time the bleeding occurred with clots so I rang 111 and an appointment was made for me. The doctor I saw seemed very concerned and told me I needed to be referred to the hospital but he couldn't do it as it was at a walk in Center and I was to go back to my GP.
As instructed I made an appointment with my GP and explaind everything that happened on all 3 ocassions and what the doctor at the walk in Center said. The doctor then said again it's probably a pile, heamoroid or an anal fissure and advised I book another appoint to see a female doctor for another rectal examination.
This is now affecting my work and social life and I don't know what to do or how to get the doctors to take me seriously. Can anyone help?
