I've had bowel cancer twice, i'm in my 50's.

A colonoscopy will find out where the blood is coming from. My Dad was losing bright red blood before Christmas, colonoscopy found nothing nasty.

Listen to your body though and if you're not satisfied with answers keep pestering.

I have to say, my stool sample came back normal both times I actually had cancer so haven't much faith in the test myself. Having said that I have met people since who had no symptoms at all and sent their bowel screening sample off (at age 60) and this test found it.

Hope you get answers soon and I'm sure it will be something less serious.

is there any other reason i could have blood in my poop apart from hemorrhoids? im really scared :( 

My Dad is going to the Dr on Monday to discuss what could have caused his blood so maybe I can tell you more then. Is the blood mixed in or on the toilet paper?

Were you a little constipated when you saw the blood? if so maybe a small tear/anal fissure.

I would ask for a colonoscopy though or a referral to hospital for them to check you.

no constipation and no blood on paper although some time ago i had some blood on paper but didnt last long and it was tiny amounts. 

the blood seems to lay on top of the stool but when i showed gp a pic they said it looks mixed in too.

Some times you can get blood in stools because of severe ibs or because of inflmmatory bowel disease. I have severe ibs so get blood at times. Only way to be certain is to ask for a colonoscopy. Hope things turn out well for you.

yea i just dont have the symptoms that ibs and ibd have :( everything points me to cancer and i am so scared, i have weight loss and blood in my poo, also back in feb i had a blood test because i thought i was having palpitations and the doctor just wanted to run some tests and my Monocyte count was abnormal it was 0.9 previous in 2017 it was 0.8 and in 2013 0.7 the normal ranger is 0.2 - 0.8 is it a bad thing that my monocyte count was out of range?
