Skin cancer

24 years since they used a scalpel to remove a moe, 2009  removed another one by freezing it of  my arm ,now another mole has appeared in my face ,and the doctor told me to watch out it for change of colour and shape .

  • Hi,

You don't say if the moles you had removed were benign or skin cancer? If skin cancer, was it melanoma & what stage were you diagnosed at? As they scraped one & froze the other I'm assuming they weren't melanoma as these types of removal should never be used for suspected melanoma - only surgical excision should be done. If I'm correct, were they basal cell?

With regards to your latest mole, can I suggest that you take a photo of it every 2 weeks to see if it changes. If, after 6 weeks, it's changed then take the photos to the GP. If you aren't happy with your GP's advice & you don't want to wait, go see another GP at the practice so you can get a second opinion.I hope this helps,

    Angie (melanoma patient)
