Hi! For what it's worth I am in exactly the same position, my appointment is on 7th January. I cancelled all NY plans as a result of getting the letter but what I am telling myself is that the strong likelihood is that it will be fine . These cells are precancerous and would still take a good few years to develop into cancer... That's why smears are offered every 3 years to offer a really good window for detection and removal of abnormal cells. Also, I don't know of anyone who has ever had cervical cancer but I know lots of people (including my sister) who has had CIN3 and laser removal. In fact, everyone I know has a friend or aunt or sister who has had it ... it's a lot more common that you'd think! I know it's really hard but seriously the chances are that it will be treated on the day and then you just have the inconvenience of going back every six months for the next couple of years! Also as far as I'm aware, they'd have to take away most of the cervix for it to prevent pregnancy, I doubt it will make much difference! Hope that helps xx
