Paget's Disease

Hello.

I have been living with symptoms since November 2018 - this includes severe itchniess/soreness/burning on my areola. (Sorry for the information) but sometimes there is skin no there at all and it bleeds every day. I have been given anti-inflammatory cream, steriod cream, ointment for skin infection/exzema and other stuff and nothing has helped. I have been in pain with this every single day and very frustrated by it. It has taken me ages to recieve a punch biopsy appointment which is January 27th 2020.

Has anybody else had any experience like this?

Thankyou,

Alice.

  • Hello Alice1996

Welcome to the forum although I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with these symptoms for such a long time. I'm sure it's been very frustrasting.

Paget's disease is a rare condition accounting for less than 4% of breast cancers. We do have some information on our website here

If you use the search function on the forum (magnifying glass in the blue bar) to search for paget's you'll find a number of posts that you may want to have a look at. I can't see that we have any members here who have had similar symptoms that have then gone on to be diganosed with pagets disease.

Hopefully your biopsy will bring positive news both in terms of diganosis and the management of whatever it is that has been going on for you the past year.

If you'd like to chat to one of our nurses ahead of your appointment you're welcome to call them. They will be back in the office on January 2nd and are available weekdays 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Best wishes,
