2WW - Pain in Breast / Shoulder / arm

Evening All,

I've been reading the forum for the past week since visiting my GP. For the past 6 weeks or so I've been getting burning pains in my left breast and it's gone very hard and a little larger then usual. I put it down to monthly hormones but it hasn't eased off and takes my breath away when it hits.
I then started getting pain in my shoulder which over the past couple of weeks has started to radiate down my arm. I have quite a manual job but as it's a quiet period at work I've not really been doing a lot so I got a bit suspicious.

GP gave me an examination and couldn't feel and lumps but felt thickening to the top of my left breast and the hardness. She referred me to the great clinic which I have an appointment on 2nd Jan.

The arm pain hasn't gone but typically I've not had any more breast pain just a random rash.

this 2WW is harder then the 2WW we went through during IVF

    Hi,

A very warm welcome to our forum. I am sorry to hear about your symptoms. I am glad to hear that you have already seen your GP and been referred to the breast clinic.

You are fortunate in that you don't have too long to wait until 2nd January. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer and several false alarms in the past 10 years, so know just how scary it is to be waiting for this consultation. I have previously been told by my surgeon that pain seldom accompanies breast cancer.

Only one person in eight who are referred to the breast clinic turns out to have cancer, so the odds are still good for you. You will find it helpful if you can take someone with you to your appointments.

I hope that all goes well for you on 2nd . Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Good luck with your appointment. I will be thinking about you. X

  • Morning All,

Just been for my appointment. Was rushed in and out but they said my ultrasound looked fine.

appointment was at 9:20. 9:30 ultrasound 9:40 seen consultant who said it was fine.

pain is very common apparently. Feel non of the wiser and can't understand why I am in so much pain. The pain doesn't correspond with my cycle in any way and the arm pain doesn't ease at all.

back to the GP I guess

  • Still so unsettled about my appointment.

think I'm gonna end up sending myself around the bend
