Worried my Mam has late stage breast cancer

Hi everyone

My mam has Been feeling ill for months. Back pain. Vomiting. Zero appetite. She's 70 and has lost a stone in weight. She's has loads of tests that didn't pick anything up but on Saturday she had a CT scan. GP called her into the surgery yesterday to say they've found 2 lumps. One in her breast and one under her arm. They suspect cancer and she has to go for a biopsy on 3 January.

They also asked her if she has problems urinating or with bowel movements which she doesn't.

She thinks her other symptoms are totally unrelated and I of course have googled and am fearing the worst. Awful news just before Christmas and I don't even know what I'm looking for you guys to tell me. Except it feels good to share.

thanks for reading.

  • Hi Northerner,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to read about your mam although glad to hear it's not long to wait for the next appointment and hopefully you'll be able to find out more soon.

I'm glad you've found it helpful to share - this forum is a very welcoming and supportive community so do use it as much as you'd like to write down your thoughts or concerns.

Try to avoid Googling things as often the information is irrelevant or not applicable to your situation.

Wishing you all the best and I hope it's not too much longer to hear more.
