Enlarged lymph nodes in neck!

Hi, new to here since google has made me an emotional wreck. I’m 21, 19 weeks pregnant and have 3 enlarged lymph nodes in my neck (right side) I noticed the first one in January, at the start of the year but was told it was normal. In the last 5 months i noticed 2 more. The doctors have been reluctant to refer me for scans as they’ve said they’re moveable lumps. I recently changed doctors and this particular doctor has sent for me an 2 week referral for an ultrasound as she wants to rule out cancer. I’m absolutely petrified and cannot stop worrying.

  • Hi,

I recently went to my Dr with a lump but he wasn't there that day so it was a different Dr. that saw me. I thought it was a cyst but the new GP expressed immediate concern and referred me for a triple assessment for mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy. To say I was terrified is an understatement as she said to me straight out "Is it cancer - I don't know" I have an 8 and 9 year old boy and they were all I could think about.

I had my apt and thankfully everything came back clear. The relief was immense but I know that feeling of terror you are going through right now as the fear of the unknown can drive you crazy. My lump was also moveable and consultant confirmed it was cysts is what I have.

I won't tell you not to worry as I know it's impossible when you're in this position but when I contacted the GP after I got my results she said she will always take a cautious approach when someone comes to her with the symptoms I did.

You're not alone and I found this chat really helpful to say straight out how terrified I was because you know other people are going through the same thing and I really found it helpful. Praying everything turns out fine for you x

  • Thankyou, i also have a 3 and 2 year old so I think the fear of anything happening to you when you have children is the worst!

I will have my ultrasound by the 30th December so I’m hoping that all this worrying was over nothing!

Lovely to hear that you had a positive outcome! X
