Urgent referral

Hi, looking for advice. I've just returned from seeing my G.P after finding a lump in the side of my breast. On examination the doctor also found another lump smaller in size in my armpit above first lump. She's sending me to Breast Clinic & says she'll call me with appointment (doesn't want to rely on post due to Christmas) G.P obviously couldn't diagnose the lumps but she's worried me saying she wants me seen urgently & finding the second armpit lump. Panicking it's going to be cancer.

  • Hi Claire

A few years ago i too had an appointment at hospital,as GP checked a painful lump in left breast. It did get worse with menstrual cycle and would then calm down. Did move about which, is why i didnt think anything of it. But had my first mamogram and a biopsy. Thankfully it came back as a cyst. I was informed it may return and if it botthered me to have it cut out . I hope that you too will be in the clear, after the breast clinic.

I appreciate this is a very worrying time for you, i am waiting to have ent christmas eve. as now a hoarse voice. Unrelated matter. So am also worried but trying to keep hopes up and look for advice from anyone, recently gone through this

    Best wishes to you

  • Thank you for reply. I've been called by the Breast Clinic at my local hospital & have been given a cancellation appointment tomorrow afternoon so couldn't be seen any earlier. I'm feeling anxious but very relieved to have an appointment so quickly

  • All the best and i hope that you are given the all clear

  • Thank you & all the best for your ENT referral on Christmas Eve. I was recently at ENT myself for hoarse & sore throat & was diagnosed with silent reflux which I'm managing with diet changes. I hope your appointment goes well x

  • Unfortunately I was diagnosed with cancer today. In my breast & lymph nodes. Feeling numb. Have CT planned & results of biopsy's taken today to see what sort of cancer & plan treatment. Told I'll need operation, chemotherapy (as it's in lymph nodes) & radiotherapy

  • Hi Claire

I am so very sorry to hear this, had hoped all went well. I can only appreciate how you feel, but hospitals are very good when dealing with cancer nowadays. They will also have a good support team. Keep heart Claire. You will get through this and im always here if you need to chat.

Prayers and support to you x
