Sarcoma

Hey, so for the past couple of months I have noticed a lump on side of my shin bone but it is only noticeable and felt when I am bending down. When I was younger I had a lump on my finger that was removed and was tested for bone cancer which came back negative but I have always been told to go back to my GP if I find any more lumps to bones etc but for the past couple of months my hand/arm has felt a lot more weaker and I can feel some lumps on finger. I went to my GP today who focused more on my lower leg as she could feel something on back of my calf and I felt pain in the calf area but didn’t really say much about it, just that she needs to rule out the worst but I am booked for an urgent scan on Thursday. I am just wondering, if they do notice anything, will they say anything to me on day of ultrasound or will I have to wait for results? I just have a horrible feeling that I can’t seem to shake off.

  • Hello Monkey1996,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum and wish you the best of luck for your scan tomorrow. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting to find out more. It's good though that the GP is being so thorough.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. I am not sure whether you will have to wait for results or if they will give you an idea of what it might be on the day of the ultrasound but it might be worth you asking them tomorrow when you see them.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have had this type of ultrasound scan before and that they will be along soon to share their experience with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
