Hi guys,
Just looking to hear about other peoples experiences as fast track breast clinic.
Im 26, been suffering from high temperatures and consistently raised inflammatory markers since July and after investigations no infection found to be cause of this so still remains a mystery.
Ive had a raised axillary lymph node for a while - first picked up months ago when getting my armpits waxed but ignored until it became visible 3 weeks ago in which it became very visible but not painful.
About a week later I developed a severe pain in my right breast down the right side and underneath which has gradually got worse - i cant wear normal bras, i cant touch the area and the pain is constant and keeping me up at night.
Ive seen my GP and ive been told I have a large.lump down that side and thickened tissue which doesnt appear typical to infection or hormomal and fatty lumps and confirmed my armpit lump and swelling is lymph nodes. Ive been referred as an urgent to the breast clinic and will be seen 8 days after my initial gp appointment. Im feeling fairly positive due to my age being under 30 but theres also this niggle in my mind and im not quite sure what to expect.
Ive no immediate family history of breast cancer but I have immediate history of hodgkins.
Is it normal that I expect this to be nothing?
Is it common for young people to be referred urgently to these places despite changes being slim? You wouldnt assume a young persons cough was lung cancer so why do we "panic" over breasts?
