Lump and thick breast tissue

Hi,

I'm new to the group and hoping someone can offer some advice. I'm 38 and found a small lump on my right breast and went to my GP on Monday. She did a breast check and while she could feel the lump she also commented the tissue felt nodulated in the right breast. She has referred me for a mammogram and ultrasound but I do not have my appointment until next Monday. I am absolutely terrified as one of the first things she said to me was "Is it cancer? - I dont know" I'm sick with worry that theres something seriously wrong now and dont know how I'll get to next Monday.

    Hi Linca,

    I'm 39 and also went to the gp with a breast lump. I got my breast clinic appointment the following week. I thought it was a cyst. I had my appointment and I have had to have further tests and have been waiting since last Wednesday for the results of my biopsy.

    I have found this week hell on earth. It consumes my every minute. I have tried to keep busy which has helped. I get my results tomorrow.
     

    Just wanted to say, when I was told a week ago I had to wait a week I thought I wouldn't be able to get through the time but I have and it's tomorrow. You will get through the waiting game, it's just such hard work!! I've actually round myself counting the sleeps!! Liz x

    It really is hell on earth waiting as your mind has an awful way of imagining the worst. Trying my best to distract myself and think of anything but the obvious but like you said it's such hard work. I went to my GP with a lump but when she expressed concern about the tissue as well it has really freaked me out. I really hoped when I went to her that she would say it's a cyst and nothing to worry about so big shock when she expressed concern and referred me for triple assessment. Will be thinking of you tomorrow and fingers crossed all is ok xxx
