Hi there it's good they have put you on the 2 week path. If you have polyps they can be removed and dont necessarily mean it's anything nasty. Please keep in contact and let me know I too am suffering with anxiety due to worry xx

thanks for taking the time to read and reply to my post. I'm so worried, because the nurse said it could be a polyp but really wasn't sure, I cannot get the worst case scenario out of my head. the doctor taking a look was meant to reassure me but due to her not knowing what it was either, I've ended up worrying even more. The bleeding is now making me panic too. Waiting is the hardest part, I can't think about anything else!

sorry to hear that you're worrying too, do you mind me asking your situation? 

i last monday was diagnosed with endometrial cancer i have this week had an MRI and a CT scan to see if it is contained.

Eversince my whole life has been taken over with the worry and anxiety and i have had to see my gp

Try not to worry i last yr had polyps and a thickened womb and everything was ok just had them removed etc.  Unfortunately this yr not so lucky x

It needs a gynaecologist to do the investigation...my gp didn’t make any comment on what she could see, she just referred me on the 2 week pathway for a specialist to investigate. I actually didn’t ask what her opinion was, because she would have just been taking a guess and I didn’t want that extra stress. 

If it is a polyp, that can be removed in day case surgery and if it’s not then you will be assessed for further treatment. It’s hard not to worry, I know, but until you know what you’re dealing with try not to go to worst case scenario and don’t google or you’ll drive yourself crazy! xx

I am so very sorry to hear your news, I will keep everything crossed for you that it has not spread. Least now they have caught it they can look at the best course of treatment for you. Sending lots of postive vibes your way x 

Thank you for your reply. I have everything crossed that it is just a polyp but as much as I try, I do keep fearing the worst. I think that's partly human nature though. How did your referral go?

i called again today to chase it and was told I will get a call either today or tomorrow with an appointment. I want to get the appointment over and done with as at least then I will know what I am dealing with. The waiting is so hard.

I already have cervical cancer unfortunately, but please don’t let that scare you! I’m quite a long way down the line, having had successful treatment but now facing it popping back up recently.  

The waiting is absolutely the worst of times because you don’t know what’s wrong and it’s hard to stay positive. I felt that recently going through my latest round of tests, even though I’d been through it all before when I was diagnosed last year! 

I don’t tend to mention it unless I’m directly asked, as I know how scared new posters on the forum can be. My best friend had a cervical polyp last year-it was benign and dealt with in a short op, in and out in a day, and she’s absolutely fine now. No matter what it turns out to be, it can be treated-hold on to that thought! 

There’s lots of supportive people on this forum if you need advice or a place to say your worries. xx
