Complex cyst

Hello, I feel really anxious as I have been told I have complicated cystic area on my R ovary and on the L ovary more complex which is a mixed cystic and solid with a thickened septi.

What does that mean? I have had a blood test today for ovarian cancer and I’m having an mri to investigate further. I feel really confused. I am trying to think positive but other what if thoughts keep creeping in to my head.

My GP has been supportive and has said let’s do these test and rule out things.

I feel scared.

  • Hi Siyaa,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. How you're feeling is of course perfectly understandable. I'm glad to hear your GP is being supportive and it sounds like they're being thorough.

Try not to dwell on things too much, and try to carry on as normally as possible until you hear more. I know this is often easier said than done.

As for your question, unfortunately I'm not sure. If you'd like to discuss things with our nurses, you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben

  • Hi Siyaa. im in the same position as you at the moment. i was told in the ultrasound that there was fluid in my fallopian tube. and then the next day the gp phoned and said there was an 'extremely abnormal' cyst on my left ovary. that had different textures. im assuming  this means some solid parts. i was urgently referred to gynycology down the urgent suspect cancer pathway. my ca125 level is apparantly normal although my prolactin level is high.

unfortunately i got 'lost' in the system again (2nd time since all this started happening) and i should of been seen weeks ago. so now my case is finally being put to mdt meeting on wednesday and hopefully should find out whats going on then. the waiting is awful isnt it. not knowing whats going on and like your in the dark
