Hi there
Your results will have no connection with your daughter’s results. If she has tested positive for hpv it will be because she has been in contact with the hpv virus. Almost all of the sexually active population will be in contact with this virus at some point in their lives...some people have an immune system which is more effective than others at clearing the virus, but once you have it, you will always have it. If your immune system clears the virus it can be inactive but can pop again sometimes years later.
It’s highly likely that the hpv virus caused your abnormal cells in the past, but at 5he time of your recent testing the virus was dormant and so didn’t show on testing. It does not mean to say you don’t have hpv now, just that the virus was not active in your system at the time of testing.
