Armpit lump

Please help me

I am a 36 Yr old mother of four. 3 with additional needs.  I just can't cope with the concern.

The last few months I have been suffering with hurrendoues back ache (upper) numerous trips to gp. Some put it to my inflammatory arthritis and also wry neck. Like a spasm.

I found a lump in my neck above my collar bone and not wanting to bother the surgery again I just took even more pain relief 30/500 and baclofen. Thinking it was something to do with the injury.

After a few weeks of just not being able to complete daily tasks and even taking a few days off work. I went to my gp. Whom agreed there was a significant lump in my neck as well as  my groin. Asking me a few questions. She decided to refer Me to haematology. Took some bloods and told me not to worry.. I have lost weight as well as sweat during the night. All of what I have attributed to being constant with 4 kids ranging from 2-13.. I was told the sweating was apart of the early menapuase.

So I got the appointment with in the week. I was told to bring someone with me..

I met the doctor who asked me questions and examined me. He found a lump in m armpit 2.5 cm and tail end ofy breast.  I have been red flagged for a ct scan and breast care. He has aired he believes there is concern for cancer and that the pain in my upper back is also to do with the problem.

I am holding it together for others. Because my husband has not an inch of empathy. My children are constantly asking me if I am OK. As I can't even manage the dishes. Husband is to concerned about his ps4 and work.

Friday the 13th is my appointment with breast care team. The ct scan was delayed as I had to prove I wasn't pregnant. With blood test.

I am thinking alsorts now

Thanks for any help you can give me to help reduce my stress

  • Hi Jules

I'm sorry to read of your anxieties. A problem shared is a problem halved as they say. I'm going through a similar route to you, got my final ct on Friday 13th and results 16th. I too am in pain and can't do the simplest of tasks because of shoulder/neck cramps. I also understand your worries for your children as I care full time for my disabled husband and fear for him in the future. Please be assured that these tests and scans are the normal route to take. I've been pushed from haematology to ent to breast clinic and am now under gastroenterology. They've checked up, down in and out so just the abdominal scan to go. Like you I find the waiting horrendous but it's all a means to an end so we just have to go with the flow. I can only wish you well for now. Xx Roseb

  • Did you send me a friend request, I can't seem to open them. Apologies. Roseb
