Worried

Hi Ladies,

Been an IBS sufferer for a number of years and currently going through a prolonged period of symptoms. Went to the docs and requested a CA 125 test to eliminate ovarian cancer.  Results came back last week and it's 37.  Doctor told me not to worry as this is only slightly raised but I'm aged 46 and a few years ago lost my friend aged 40 to ovarian cancer after she had been wrongly treated for IBS for 18 months. I'm now waiting for an appointment for a scan and the waiting and uncertainty is not helping my mental or physical health. No magic answers I know but just wanted to talk to people who understood.

  • Welcome to the forum VMount although I'm sorry for the reason you're joining us.

I know it's hard not to worry but from what the doctor has said, it sounds reassuring.

Many of our members here have had a ca125 test so will understand what you're going through at the moment so hopefully some of them will pick up on your post and be along soon to offer their support and advice. Do feel free to join in on any discussions you find about the ca125 test when having a look through the forum as well. The best way to do this is by using the 'search forum' option in the blue bar above.

Fingers crossed the appointment for your scan will come through soon VMount.

    Kind regards,
