1 year on...

Hi all,

I wanted to post an update as it’s been a year since my last cervical screening. As mentioned in my post last year, Results showed I had low grade cell abnormalities and HPV detected. I was referred for a colposcopy at the time and was delighted to not even have to have a biopsy, due to no abnormal cells being visible. Skip to 1 year on and I have had another routine cervical screening. I was hopeful that this time, result might be different. Unfortunately not. Once again low grade cell changes and HPV were detected. I went to a colposcopy appointment last week and while no abnormal cells were visible, the wonderful doctor and nurse team decided it would be sensible to take 4 biopsies (one from each quadrant) just to be thorough. I’m now awaiting biopsy results. I am super thankful to you all for being brave enough to post your individual experiences here because it reminds me that none of us are alone. We are strong women with amazingly medical teams around us to support so keep going all and don’t ever feel like you are alone in these uncertain times.

  • Hi Aimeelou,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. These sorts of posts are always incredibly helpful to others on the forum, and other people in future who may be searching online for information.

I hope it's not too much longer for you to wait for your results, and wishing you all the best,
