Swollen lymphnode had scan

Its been swollen 9weeks now with no obvious signs of infection or illness & no other symptoms.

Was reffered to specialist 2 weeks ago.doc wasnt too worried and thought was over reactive lymphnode.but could see how worried i was so ordered a scan.

I attended today and to my suprise was told i needed a biopsie i wasnt prepared atall for that and really freaked out..apparently the glad has a 'very round'appearance that causes concern....

I burst into tears and refused a biopsy(regret it now)

The docs going to consult her collegues and then invite me back to see if its got bigger etc  

I just dont understand y it would be swollen if iv not been illand y its been swollen nearly 10weeks without getting smaller,its painless and no other symptoms....

Any1 had anything like thisim worried sick,im a single mum with no family or support and im not sure how il manage if its cancer

    Hi Leanne101,

    As a sufferer of swollen lymph nodes and going down the same route, I can only advise you to take any scans or biopsies offered to you. Please call the Dr or hospital department and explain you freaked out (understandably) and would like the biopsy. It doesn't hurt to have it done and its worth it for your peace of mind. Chances are they'll find nothing to worry about. Good luck xx

    I know it's scary but it's better to get it checked avoiding it won't make it go away. My husband has a lump in his neck, also painless and no other symptoms. We had out ct scan today and waiting for a biopsy which is next Friday. It's bettet to get things checked and usually it turns out to be nothing serious!
