sorry to hear your so anxious, I totally understand, I've been in the same situation this last two weeks or so, I had  the same sort of situation as you, I was referred for further tests, luckily after an ultra sound, aspiration and mammogram  it was confirmed to be a cyst, your doctor has done exactly the right thing, my boob was sore/tender In the area where the cyst was if I applies pressure, I hope this eases you a little, and let me know how you go on, sending you a big hug x

Hi Ali,

I found a lump about the size of a pea 2 weeks ago, I've got my referral to breast clinic on Monday, it is far to say I am an absolute mess today, trying to think positive but it really isn't working.

Supposed to be out for a Christmas do tomorrow, it is fair to say, I'm not feeling very festive.

Hi [@rosey77]‍ its so horrible isn't it. The not knowing and having to wait is the worst. I can't stop looking up things on google (which I know is a bad idea)

I am experiencing the same this week, found a lump last weekend went to doctors and they referred me for an urgent check up within 2 weeks. I'm so scared, go from thinking rational about it all to a wreck within minutes. Everytime I feel it I feel sick with worry. Trying to keep busy to keep mind off it all but its so hard isn't it. I am constantly on Google too, which is this worst thing to do I know. Xx

I'm sorry to hear how worried you are. I found a 2cm lump on my left breast 12 days ago. I am at the breast clinic on Tuesday. After the initial panic that lasted two days,  I've gone the completely opposite way and convinced myself it's a Fibroadenoma. I'm 44. The lump which felt fixed now feels a little mobile and I can grasp two sides of it. It doesn't hurt and it's just near my areola. I still want it removing even if it's a Fibroadenoma but I can't believe it's nothing other than benign. Those I've told however, are having melt downs about it whilst I'm extremely positive it's benign and Tuesday is a formaility for me. So much so, I've ordered everyone to stay away and I'm going alone. I think it's possibly because I know a lot about breasts being a lactation consultant and the statistics are very much on our side. I wish I could transfer some of my positivity to you but I also understand why others would really worry about it and it doesn't help having others say don't worry. It's helped me massively looking at the statistics and realising it's much more likely to be ok. I hope that doesn't make me strange!  The only time I struggled was going straight to a lactation consult after the GP referred me. Hi I've had exactly the same. I'm a mess too, 3 kids and a hubby that keep a saying it's going all ok, but thinking what if it's not. I know there are people worse off but controlling my emotions at the moment is very difficult. I feel guilty about losing it ! 

It's a horrible situation but from this chat group you see how many of us are in the same situation. Stats are on our side, with 80% of lumps being benign, right now it's just a waiting game and that's  what I'm finding the hardest part.

my lump seems to have shrunk in the last couple of days which has given me some reassurance that's it not cancerous, I can't imagine a cancerous lump would get smaller!

sending positive thoughts to all of you, we'll all know the outcome soon . X
