Pregnant with Biopsy anxiety

Hi everyone,

I hope you don’t mind me sharing my worries, never posted anything like this... here goes

I am 21 weeks pregnant with my second son my eldest is 3 very soon. I found a lump in my breast that was scanned yesterday and they found another in my armpit. I had to have a biopsy on both and have left feeling very scared of the future and can’t help but constantly worry. I feel very sore in that area but was most concerned with what the nurses wasn’t saying. I felt like they were holding back from saying certain things if that makes sense. Anyway just wondering if anyone else has had any similar experiences whilst also being pregnant. Thank you for listening

  • Hello Bex00

Welcome to the forum or as some of our members here like to call it the "club that no one wants to join". I'm sure at the moment you'd much rather be enjoying your pregnancy whilst running round after a toddler. But please let me reassure you that you are not alone. We've had quite a number of ladies post here who have found lumps during pregnancy.

Understandably it's very scary and it's easy to read into things that are/aren't said during an appointment. Try not to worry.
I'm going to suggest that you take a look at this thread here, as well as this one here and this one here. I'm sure that if you post a reply on one of those threads you'll be able to chat to other Mums -to-be who have been in your position and can offer some words of advice and support.

We also have a team of nurses here at CRUK who you can chat to if you. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040 and I'm sure they'll be able to offer some information and reassurance.

I hope that the biopsy sites are less tender now and that you don't have to wait too long for the results. Do let us know how you get on.
    Best wishes,
