hpv infection borderline abnormal cells

What does this mean? I can't help but sit and worry 

it's all I can think about ... I've just had my first smear at 27 and it's came back with borderline abnormal cells with HPV positive and a HPV infection

what is HPV? Is it a STD? I'm so confused to how I have this as I've been with my husband for 6&years 

and been 1000000% faithful as I know he has ... what does this mean for me???! Anyone else been in this situation that can tell me their outcome.

    Hello Kim_Anne, 

    Welcome to our forum! Try not to worry too much I am sure you will hear from others here who have been in a similar position before and that they will be able to tell you more and reassure you.

    We have information on our website on HPV which you can find here and which I hope will be useful to you to help you understand what HPV is.  It includes a little video which explains things well and if you have any questions about HPV, don't hesitate to give our nurses a call on 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and I am sure they will be very happy to explain everything to you in relation to your particular story.

    Hi I'm awaiting my smear results and I'm sooo anxious!!! I had Lletz in 2013 which came back all clear and my follow up smears ( last one in dec2016) have all been fine... this is my first 3 year one and I'm so worried that my Cin 2 has returned or I have developed something worse as I'm having abdo and back pain!! Please help!!!
