Small solid lump on my nipple

Hey! I’m looking for anyone that’s had the same symptoms.

At the weekend I noticed I have a small lump on the side of my nipple. 2-5mm I would say. The lump is an irregular shape and solid.

The past month or so my left nipple has been “leaking”/discharging and has been extra sensitive. The discharge has been yellow/orange- The only way I can describe it. And my boob has been painful. (Which I just thought could be achy pre period boobs)

I’ve been to the doctors today and he couldn’t give me any idea as to what my lump is. He thought it was so strange for it to be on the nipple as a lump would usually be on the areola or breast.

Of course I’ve googled it, but I can’t find anything that’s the same as what I’m experiencing. I presume it isn’t normal as my doctor couldn’t suggest anything other than a 2w referral to the breast clinic. Which is what I expected.

I’m really after ANYONE to say they have experienced a lump on the nipple and not the areola.

  • Hi SunGarden13x,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can imagine this is unsettling and I'm sure the uncertainty must be difficult, but I'm glad to hear the doctor has referred you so hopefully you'll be able to find out more soon.

If anyone here has any similar experience then hopefully they'll be along soon - my reply here will boost your post so more people will see it.

I hope it's not too much longer for you to wait for your appointment.

    Wishing you all the best,
