Lump on implants

I had a double mastectomy almost 3 years and I had reconstruction immediately. Basically right away my right side started to shift and it's getting worse and so is the left side but not as bad. I recently received a letter stating that the implants could cause cancer.  When speaking with my oncologist she said a lot of her patients are having then removed. My plastic surgeon thinks I should have them. Redone and as I said it's not even been  3 years. And I can't take the chance it won't happen again.im use to them being freezing cold but the hardness and the pain even though they last a few seconds yesterday my right side hurt so bad and got hot then feeling I found a lump in myimplant???????

  • Hi Ltlle,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand this must be unsettling. It sounds like you've had advice to get them removed or redone and so perhaps that would give you peace of mind. However it's not something I can really advise on so do make sure you get any further advice from your doctor about this as required.

If you'd like to discuss anything with our nurses, you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

    Wishing you all the best,
