I wondered if any of you can help, ill explain my story a little.

I have just had a ultrasound of an enlarged lymph node in my neck. It is on the left, near my carotid artery. The radiologist made me feel reassured and i almost went home happy, i had a feeling to ask for the report and reading it, i am concerned.

She told me it was ovoid, it measures 16mm x 11mm which to me is not ovoid, i think with lymph nodes they would usually be oval if they are greater than x2 of the short axis, this raises the alarm bells for me. Also shows some loss of the hilar and has a well defined border, both again suspicious traits. Only plus it has a normal hilar vascularity.

Pretty concerned about this, i have had much larger lymph nodes excised before but this one concerns me. It ticks some boxes for metastases cancer. Do you think i should push for a refereral on this?

If i was to get refererred would it be an ENT consultant best to suit this, it is in the neck.
