Petrified!

W

For some time now I have had a slightly enlarged spleen. It gives me a lot of pain in my side and back. Today I visited  my Dr as I’m feeling very fatigued plus the pain in my my left side won’t go away. I have suffered with anemia & lack of Vitmim D for the past year. I’m  being referred to hematology at the hospital and will be seen in the next couple of weeks. I’m really worried what they might find.Especially as I’ve had the spleen pain for over 10 years and now finally it’s become worse. It was dismissed by my Dr all this time.Only now is my Dr bothering  to refer me?!

  • Hello Terribaz,

You did the right thing in going back to your doctor and it's good that they are now being thorough and that you are being referred to be seen by a specialist. Try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long now to see the specialist.

The best thing to do while you are waiting for your appointment is to keep busy and away from Dr Google - many here will tell you Google is often unreliable and only makes us worry more.

I hope you find out soon the reason for this pain in your spleen.

    Keeping everything crossed for you!

    Best wishes,
