Consistent bleeding

I had my baby in April this year, as expected I bled for around 8 weeks then stopped for a week and bled again for another (I assumed this was my period) so I started contraception, (the injection) this continued my bleeding or so the doctor had told me that was the reason for my on going bleeding. I then had my cervical screening test, the result cane back that I have HPV and I was advised to keep an eye on my period for any abnormalities, obviously concerned for how much I was bleeding anyway I made the conscious decision to come off of contraception so that to analyse my periods naturally, this has now been going on for several months and I've still not stopped bleeding. I've recieved a letter inviting me for another cervical screening, I've been to the doctors several times with different excuses as to why they think I'm bleeding but no real answers, I'm 24 and I'm lost with what to do... 3 weeks ago I had an internal examination at my new surgery and I've had no results come back, I was told I'd be referred to gynaecology for a scan, and still no appointment. I'm honestly terrified and just need some answers, any advice would be amazing. Sincerely, one scared mum x

  • Hi Shanice and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry for the reason you've joined us but some of our members will understand what you're going through having been in similar situations themselves and will hopefully be along soon to offer their support and advice.

Do be sure to follow up with your surgery about the results and referral to gynaecology as they'll be in the best position to let you know what's going on.

I really hope you're not waiting too much longer and get some answers soon Shanice.

    Kind regards,
