Scared for Mum's colonoscopy results

Hi everyone, first post here.

I know no one will have THE answer about this but just wanted any previous experiences. My mum had a colonoscopy 10 or so days ago. Today, doctor rang to say she urgently needs a blood test and have booked in to see her next Friday to discuss it all.

Obviously my Mum is worried. I played it down to her, but I am too. Instinctively, mentally I've assumed why they said it needed to be done "urgently" and it's a very scary thought. The doctor said all other details are a bit "sketchy" and that she will have all the info when she sees her in a week's time.

Has anyone else ever had to have a blood test asap following a colonoscopy, or something similar? Thanks in advance.

I've had bowel cancer twice in the last 5 years.
Both times I was told straight after my colonoscopy. Did they not tell her what they had seen?

Sorry if this was posted twice; essentially the colonoscopy was last Tuesday and only got the call for the "urgent" blood test following the results today. They said the results are "sketchy" and the blood test would make it clearer but to see her next Friday. She said "not to worry too much" but easier said than done!

If she said not to worry too much, maybe that's a good sign.
Hospitals and Drs do have a strange way of dealing with things. If they would just tell you over the phone instead of leaving you dangling.
It's hell waiting when you think there's a slightest risk it could be something nasty.
