Hello ladies
I am seeking both solice and information! I have had repeated colposcopies over the last 12 months, the first following a smear last January, where I was told I had high grade abnormalities on my cervix. The results of that colposcopy showed a decline in abnormalities to what my doctor called 'moderate'. The pattern of colposcopy results has been high grade, to low grade and now back to high grade again. The emotional stress that that this has caused has given me a stomach ulcer for which i am taking medication.
I had a llezt biposy done a few days ago, following a further high grade abnormality colposcopy and I won't have the results for 5 weeks. I am absolutely petrified that I will be diagnosed with cancer that has been festering for 12 months!! I am confused about why it took so long for the hospital to offer me the lletz treatment (I know people who were offered it on the first occurance of high grade abnormalities!) I am also very anxious about what happens next, about whether my health insurance will support me given this 12 month roundabout of tests.
Does anyone else have experience of any of this? What did you do?
What can I expect if there is cancer and they have not caught it 'early' because of the delay in the lletz biposy?
All of my anxiety is manifesting itself in sleepless nights, feeling sick, a stomach ulcer and bouts of crying at random times. Its the not knowing (5 weeks is a long time to wait for this kind of result!), that is causing most of it.
I hope you can shed some light and hope ...
x
