My son has a lump on his right side of his neck. I went to the hospital with him and the doctor checked him over he said he couldn't see any infection but eventually said that he thought it was blood cancer he gave us a antibiotic for 14 days and to come back after 5 days for bloods to see if it is that . I decided to go to my own doctor and she said she thinks it is mumps she took a swab and still waiting for those results to come back . I rang the hospital and got the doctor that said about the cancer if my son could get the bloods done earlier so he said he could get them done today so we went and got them done and the results are back tomorrow . The swelling on my son neck has gone down but the lump is still there under the skin when you feel around it,it is still sore to touch for him . I'm just wondering if you would think it is mumps or cancer . He is feeling well no weight loss,fatigue, or any other infections .thank you
