Hello!
My mum is going for a colonoscopy on Thursday & whilst she's okay I'm a bit nervous myself (sounds silly!).
Just over a week ago she had bleeding when going to the toilet (this was once on the Friday, none on Saturday, then a few times on the Sunday & Monday). It now seems to have disappeared and hasn't happened for a week today (touch wood). She had no other symptoms - always suffered loose movements, for over 15 years - but no changes or anything.
She saw the GP who couldn't feel any piles or anything 'sinister' on the lower bowel (didn't know they could feel that far!). She didn't meet the criteria for stools test or colonoscopy but GP said she would refer her for colonoscopy anyway, just so they would check everything out. GP said on her head be it as the criteria wasn't met but maybe she was just a nice thorough GP!
Just wanted to post really and express my nerves and see if anyone had anything similar...
Hope that's okay, as I'm not directly concerned about anything sinister as such, but it's always in the back of my mind...
Thank you!
