The saga continues!

Hello all,

Following on from previous posts my doctor has finally referred me for a scan on my pea sized lump on my neck.

She said it can take 3-4 weeks to be referred, she didnt sound panicked and didnt say it was anything to worry about it was just something to get checked out. Should i be seeking comfort in this?

My mind is in overdrive.

Thank you

  • Hey....

I'm going through similar with neck issues, this has been ongoing for over 8 weeks now, I've been on antibiotics with no change in symptoms and the symptoms getting worse

I have a lump under my jaw, numbness in my mouth left side, trouble swallowing (so eating is a nightmare) and pain in the left side of my neck.

I've had a MRI scan today and I'm already booked in for results next tuesday.

My doctor booked me in under "suspected cancer" and I was on a 2 week referral to be scanned and to see ENT.

I dont know where abouts you are in the uk but having a appointment in 3 to 4 weeks take some comfort in that, and they are not rushing it through so it may not be nothing serious.

You will worry, I worry, i worry everyday because of what the doctor said to me, but as i was told by a lovely lady on this site "it's not cancer until they tell you its cancer", so please please try not to worry

    Xxx

  • Thanks for the reply

Luckily it's not got bigger but I'm scared to say the least :( please let me know how you get on

    My mind is on overdrive

  • That's the thing any lump we come up in we all automatically think cancer, I think because of the lumps that people find are.

But there are so many same symptoms of things that mean something else but I think you just automatically think the worse.

I did Google symptoms at the start and now realised to keep away from google as it can seriously make you go mad with worry.

I will let you know how it all goes and you keep me updated with you to.

And again really try not to worry, its great they have got you in for a referral aswell to have a look xx
