Quick background: lump on left breast, swollen with inversion/discoloured areola/nipple for the past couple of weeks.

GP examination and referred to breast clinic. My appointment this morning consisted of an ultrasound, mammogram then another  ultrasound for 2nd opinion.

Consultant has said pretty certain the lump is benign but I need to return for biopsy next week and take antibiotics in meantime. 

Has anyone elses biopsies been a different outcome to scans? More waiting and worry, but bless our NHS for how thorough and caring the staff are.
