Hey,

 

I noticed a lump in my breast around 3 weeks ago but thought nothing of it. 2 weeks later the lump has grown and I am aware of it all the time. I went to see my GP last wednesday (06/11/2019), totally expecting him to say it was nothing to worry about and send me on my way, considering I am only 22.

My doctor examined me and told me he was putting in a 2 week urgent referral for me. I still havent heard anything from the hospital or GP regarding my appointmet? It will be a week on wednesday since I saw my GP, is this normal? Obviously I am worrying and just want to at least know when my appointment will be. Should I contact the hospital or GP?

    Hi Tia,

     

    I know many on our forum will have had experience of chasing letters and may have some tips for you. 

     

    In the meantime, perhaps you could give your GP a call again and mention that you are feeling very worried about it and would like to know when the appointment is likely to take place, or how long the wait is likely to be?

    Hi Matt,

     

    Thank you so much for responding so quickly. I phoned the hospital who informed me they had only received the referral today and that they will action it and phone me as soon as possible! I am feeling sooo anxious but hoping I will calm down a bit when I know when my appointment is.
