New lump found.

Bare with, this may be lengthy... I found a lump a few months ago, went to the doctor's and was referred to a specialist. The agonising two week wait, went to my appointment and was poked, prodded and was told that it wasn't anything to worry about and go on my way. I think I was so relieved to hear those words "don't worry" that I didn't think twice. Now I've still got that lump, and now I have a new one below it and the top of my breast has changed shape. I tried to book a gp appointment on Friday (8/11) and was told to try for an appointment on Monday. I'm 29 and relatively healthy so the logical part of my brain is telling me to remain calm but then the other part of me is asking why didn't I get an ultrasound at my original specialist appointment, why am I having to go through all this fear again? I'm sure the specialist knows her lumps and bumps but I think I was so shellshocked from it all I didn't stop to ask questions and now I just feel like I'm going to be a part of another waiting game. I'm sorry that this is a bit of a rant, but I'm scared. Like I said I will be phoning the doctors first thing Monday but I just wanted to know if anyone else had experiences where they saw their specialist but also wasn't taken for further tests, their breasts were just examined. Anything would be great to hear about.

  • Hi Ullabird,

I can imagine this situation is a little unsettling and frustrating. I hope that today you were able to get an appointment with the doctor. If you're yet to have it, discuss your concerns and questions with them as it's important that you understand any reasoning and that also you get peace of mind with your situation.

It's good that you are being proactive with this and I hope you're able to find out more soon.

    Wishing you all the best,
