  • Hello XX and welcome to the forum.

I know lots of our members here will have found the waiting for tests and results to be a difficult time. It's understandably frustrating not knowing what is going on.

We've some information on our website about wire guided excision biopsy here along with contact details for our nurses shouold you want to talk to them.

I hope that your surgery goes smoothly next week. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long afterwards for a diagnosis and the team will be able to answer some of your questions.
Do let us know how you get on.
    Best wishes,

    Hi

sorry you find yourself in this situation...  when do you have your surgery? What type of cancer have they said?  I had Grade 2 invasive ductal carcinoma ER+ PR+ HER2 negative, 1.2mm lesion.  It was small but deep so didn't even know it was there, caught by chance.  I had wire guided lumpectomy/incision (neatly cut round the nipple - beautiful no scaring) and neat little side of armpit scar to take 3 lymph nodes which were fortunately clear.  I was back at work after two weeks, little bruising swelling but no painkillers needed.  I find out on Tuesday my radiotherapy plan which I believe is 15 sessions and probably Tamoxifen for 10 yrs.  All very strange being estrogeon based since I had a total hysterectomy nearly 5 yrs ago, the surgeon said it was just sh**t for luck

The surgery round the nipple is great cos you can barely see it.  I'm doing really well, Clear margins and clear lymph nodes.  it's nowhere near as bad as I imagined.  Apparently breast cancer is one of the few cancers that can only truly be diagnosed after surgery.  It's really complex diagnosis too.   Oh no shame do you think you lost the weight and tired just from stress?  Once you done you'll see it's not as bad the surgery.  I can't speak for radiotherapy as I'm waiting to start, but I heard that's not too bad.  The radiotherapy is mop up, so precaution in case anything missed.   I'll keep checking on you   Try not stress other than a little swelling and some bruising its fine, I stopped taking painkillers on the third day as realised I didn't need them xx

I lost the weight n the tiredness came when I was decorating 3 month ago I fell off the ladder and banged my left boob since then I've been like this I've always had mastitis in both boobs personally I think when I banged it it's started to move as I have something concerning in ,1 lynfnode also I've read up about it and mastitis when rumbled gives the same symptoms and can start early bc so I'm on the fence at min they say 60 \ 40 % chance it could be as I'm at high risk lost me mum she was so young so I'm not sure
