A scan a few months ago (for something else) found very enlarged internal lymph nodes and some up in my arm pit. After various tests and bloods, I was finally referred to the lymphoma consultant to rule this cause out. But rather than rule it out the hospital have said at this stage without typical symptoms they aren't going to do anything - basically come back when you are more ill. Their letter to my GP did say that I could possibly have lymphoma but they can't say with certainty. Since they are unwilling to do a biopsy or any invasive testing I feel I have this shadow hanging over my head - I might have Stage 1 and it might be very treatable (and I might not). It is hard now to sit back and wait for it to potentially worsen.
I wondered if anyone else had been in this position and whether I should try to be assertive and demand testing or whether the best course of action is to just sit back. My GP seems purely to defer to the consultants.
