Hysteroscopy results

Good afternoon,

I've never written or been on any forum but I feel a little lost and I don't really have anyone to talk to about my situation, my wonderful mum has just lost her sister to womb cancer, so I feel I would not want to worry and cause her anymore stress, I've had Gyne problems for a while, I've have had two very large dermoid cysts removed in 2016 so had a gynaecologist already.

I haven't been feeling very well recently, pelvic pain very unusual bleeding/discharge, the discharge was almost black stringy (sorry for the graphic description) ridiculous bloating, extream tiredness, loss of appetite, change in bowl movements, slight incontinents back ache, so I contacted my gynaecologist and he arranged a hysteroscopy, i had this done nearly 3 weeks ago and one thing has stuck in my mind, my Gynaecologist happened to mention that I had Significant thickness in my womb which is unusual as I have had a mirina coil fitted for the last three years, and stupidly I've been googling and it says that a mirina coil is normally fitted for Thickening of the womb to help reduce it, I'm 35 with one daughter who is 16.

I don't really know what I'm expecting from this post, maybe some reassurance or any advice from any women that have had a similar experience. Many thanks in advance to anybody that has been in a similar situation, in regards to the significant thickening even with mirina coil already in situ,  that could offer some information or advice.

  • Hello Jeanellen03 and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to hear that you recently lost you Aunt and that you've also been dealing with these ongoing gynae problems. I think given everything that you've mentioned in your post it's understandable that you're feeling a bit concerned about things.

I'm afraid that I don't know what might be causing the thickening that your Consultant mentioned. Are you expecting a follow up appointment with your Consultant? If not then perhaps get in touch with him to ask.

You could also give our team of nurses a call if you think it may help. They're available on 0808 800 4040 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm).

I hope that you get some answers soon and that things improve for you.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
