I also had calcifications from routine screening. Mine unfortunately turned out to be high grade DCIS and I chose to have it removed, which was the right decision for me as post op it was found to contain invasive cancer. This is not always the case; yours could be benign, or it could be low to medium grade DCIS. DCIS, own its own has a 100% survival rate - which at the end of the day is the main thing. Try and keep yourself busy these next two weeks and try not to worry, fingers crossed yours will be benign. x

I had my masectomy in July 2017 .. and the next year had 2 lumps under the scar .. I was told they looked like calsification...had a little op ...had to wait 2 weeks for result ... and mine were fine ... no other treatment needed .. just calsification...

So like our Maggie said .. there's some good results even if tested positive ...

But everything crossed for you for good result too .. so try to keep busy ... it just may be o.k ...

Dreading going to hospital for the results

Thats good to hear, I personally went in for my results alone as I knew I was looking, at that stage, worse case scenario being DCIS so wasn't shocked when the nurse said 'pre cancer cells' , in fact I was quite relieved, just need to know the grade in order to decide whether I wanted them removed or not. I'm a private person and dont like to show emotion in public so it was really important to know what I was possibly dealing with prior to getting the results - I hate surprises :) so I wouldnt make a fool of myself once there. It also helped take the sting out of waiting and fretting.

I'm exactly 3 months from op - no radio/ chemo

needed - just Tamoxifen .. and now decision on reconstruction 

What I'm trying to say is .... stay positive

There's always options
