I've had two colonoscopies, the bowel clearing laxatives you will get would clean a drain never mind a bowel so wouldnt worry about not being able to empty the rectum. I also had toilet issues - hence why I was given a colonoscopy, this lead to me being diagnosed with diverticulitis, the toilet issues were also highlighted but required other tests - CT scan and a proctogram.
