Hi all. I'm new to this so apologies if I am posting wrongly.
In September my dr urgently ref me for a scan as I had a bloated stomach and she could feel something. My blood results came back with enhanced tumour markers and scan showed a huge mass on my right ovary. The consultant is operating on monday, removing the tumour, full hysterectomy and appendices. . I haven't yet had a biopsy taken as the tumour is so large it has to be removed. During a phone call my Dr openly referred to ovarian cancer, but at first consultation the consultant said it was 50/50 on being cancer or begnine. However at pre op appointment he said once they remove it they will send it off to be graded.
I am now totally confused as on one hand they seem to be suggesting it is cancer but also hedging their bets. Is this normal or should I be concerned? Any advice would be great please as I am getting confused and want to be prepared as much as possible. Many thanks for reading.
