Waiting for results , how long did you wait

So yesterday I had my transvaginal and normal ultrasound scan following an urgent 2 week appointment.  I am just wondering how long people waited. The lady said 5 working days but am wondering if they had spotted anything I would be told sooner ?

I know it has to be looked over and then sent to gp to feed back info but just wondering if anyone has an idea of the time frame

Worried from the questions the lady asked at the ultrasound and for how long it took. Probably over reacting as usual

  • Hello Pandalover17,

I hope you will hear from someone else here who has had the same type of scan and that they will share with you how long they had to wait for these results to come through. We have some information on our website here on the transvaginal ultrasound scan which might be useful to you in terms of giving an indication as to the possible timeframe of waiting for results. Hopefully you will find out more in the next few days. We're keeping everything crossed for you for good results!

    Best wishes,

  • Hello.  I had to have two separate transvaginal ultrasounds recently.  The first one I was told "something" is showing but they wanted me to have a period and see if this would just be something like old blood but was still there when I went for my second scan.  She wasn't going to say anything until I asked her and she said yes, it's still there.  The report will go back to the Gynae team who will contact you. So I then received a letter within a week asking me to go to Gynae appointment. She sat there, looked at the scans then did an attempted hysteroscopy that couldn't be completely carried out as I was in too much paid so had to go to hospital to have a general for the biopsies.  From that appointment until the day I got my results to tell me I had no gynacological cancer was exactly 6 weeks to the day.  But now I am limbo, still don't know what's wrong - still have pelvic pain, still can't have sex due to discomfort/pain but it's like I have been put aside as I am not important as I don't have cancer.  I hope your outcome is clear x
