Lump in breast waiting for breast clinic appointment

Hello

I’ve been to my GP and been referred to the breast clinic. I’m 23 so aware it is unlikely for it to be breast cancer. But the dr said she could feel the lump and see some swelling near my armpit so would be best to get it checked out.

I have had lots of tests this year as I have been very tired with no explanation for it. All my tests came back clear so I got discharged in April this year. Now I have found a lump I’m wondering if the tiredness could be related to this.

Im nervous for my breast clinic appointment ( once it comes through) , how should I prepare, what should I expect, any advice on how to take your mind off it while you are waiting?

Thanks in advance guys xx

  • Hiya! It all depends on the area I think. My local hospital have a one stop clinic so basically I got referred from the gp to the one stop breast clinic and it was all done on the day.

when I first went in I saw the consultant who wanted to have a feel. Then he sent me for an scan and mammogram in another part of the hospital.

Unfortunately they did see something of concern so I went back in the afternoon for a biopsy and blood tests.

Waited just over a week for the results.

try not to worry yourself as there are a number of reasons for lumps in breasts. Some breast tissue can continue into the armpit which gives reason for sore armpits sometimes too xxx
