High grade dysplasia and confusion

I was diagnosed after a biopsy with high grade dysplasia of my vocal cords. The ent doctor said I would need laser treatment and that I'd be referred to a head and neck doctor for that.

I saw the H&E doctor yesterday who did the camera up my nose, down throat and said everything looks fine I will see you again in 4 months.

It was all very rushed and I was in and out in 5 minutes, barely had a chance to speak.

Due to this I forgot tell him I also have a lump sensation. On the right side of my throat which is constantly there.

I am so confused about it all and dont know what to do or who to ring or anything really.

  • Hello Fralala

Sorry to hear that you've been dealing with some health concerns recently.
I'm unsure if this lump sensation is something new since the intial referral by your GP. If it is then it's worth getting in touch with your GP to have this checked out. If your GP feels this is something that needs to be flagged to the Consultant they will be able to do this.

You could also contact the Consultant's secretary at the hospital (switchboard should be able to put you through).

I hope that you're able to get some reassurance soon.
    Best wishes,
